Someone once said to me that animals have no souls.
But I believe that his theory is replete with holes. How can one of God’s most beautiful creations not be allowed to roam about in His coming nation. I have a cat that has more love than any one I know. She never misses an opportune, her tenderness to show. I have another that we found locked up in someone’s cellar. If you sit down she’s in your lap. Twice, you don’t have to tell her. The third I found on a road one night, his future very dim. Now he thinks he owns the joint. We’re just here to feed him. I also have three precious dogs-all colored black and white. If people loved like these dogs do, life would be a delight. Miss peanut is the matriarch, the leader of the pack, Even thought she’s so much smaller, no more than a snack. Eli is her soul mate, the sire of all her babies. They’re like a married couple, no ifs, or buts, or maybes. The third we found beneath my truck, abandoned and forgot. If we hadn’t spotted her-she’d be a flat, grease spot. Now they all live in this house and keep us company. Three cats, three dogs, my wife and I are one big family. So when I finally get to heaven I won’t have to despair. Because I know my family will be waiting for me there. For Miss Peanut, Eli, Elsie, Sissy, Patches and Carter
