THANKS FOR NEW YEAR GREETINGS: a sonnet
I thank you for sending New Year greetings, Though after seeing sixty six New Years, Such wishes are no more than sweet nothings About future for which I have no fears. Gone are the days when I did look forward To get greeting cards or some lovely gifts. Now each day does slowly take me toward The gate from which one finally exits. The recent years’ events truly make me Think why countries are bombed falsely blaming Them that they have hidden WMD, Though later it’s proven there was nothing. Let’s hope New Year brings new peace in the world. Let’s hope nations and men follow God’s word. M C Gupta 25 December 2007
