My Christmas 2007

Christmas 2007. I look forward to Christmas as I put up my tree and all the decorations. I sang Christmas Carols and now Christmas is done for another year. We had Christmas Dinner at my mother's. Mom had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, rolls, creamed corn, dressing, chocolate cream pie and carrot cake. My husband, son Jason and his wife were there. I ate too much as usual. Mom had put up her white tree with white lights on it and white angel decorations. The tree swirled around and was very pretty.

We had Christmas Eve at my house over the weekend. It was a Birthday Christmas celebration. I played Christmas music by Bing Crosby,Celine Dion, George Strait and of course GRANDMA GOT RAN OVER BY A REINDEER. I played the new Eagles CD. They are still great! My daughter-in-law had me unwrap one of my gifts and it was Celtic Woman's Christmas CD so I played that. I love Christmas music.

The guests for my party were: my parents, my son Jason and wife Erin, Erin's parents, my husband's step mother and my husband and I. Erin bought baked beans and a ham. My son bought over ice cream cake. I made a turkey. My mother-in-law made some chocolate cookie cakes. Erin's mother made a peas and potatoes caserole. My mother made chicken salad , scalloped potatoes and meatballs. The food was very good.

For Christmas I got: Captain Jack Sparrow Doll, Pirate Barbie Doll{Jack has Barbie to sail the seven seas with! Lucky her!}, Emerald Ring{from my husband. A very pretty special ring from the display case}, DVD's of: Topper Movies. The Beatles Help Movie, Easy Rider, The Holiday with Kate Winslet, Titanic Barbie, Snowman Cookie Jar, The Wizard Of Oz Story Book that is about the book, plays and movies and author Frank Baum, 1 heart Bracelet, scrapbooks{I do love scrap booking!}, a blonde porcelain doll {I collect dolls!}, Tinker Bell Musical Snow Globe and an angel candle holder. Since my Birthday is so close to Christmas, I always get extra giftas and I feel spoiled and embarrased about it.

I bought my son 2 Men's cologne sets from Macy's he wanted and I got my daughter-in-law penguin items{she loves penguins!} and an Old Navy Gift Certificate. I got Mom a new cutter for scrapbooking, a punch for scrap booking, cologne and Gone With The Wind ornament. I bought my husband toy tractors and shirts and gifts for Erin's parents and my husband's step mother. Dad loved the Aviation Book that I got him. He used to fly planes and he was in Viet Nam 3 times. He was pleased. He didn't put the book down!

My tree is white and all decorated with lavender/purple ornaments and red lights. I have Barbie ornaments on the tree along with Disney Princesses, wolf, dog, reindeer, doll and cat ornaments. I have tall light up angels by the tree, along with Rudolph, reindeer, snowmen, Santa and house decorations.

My son and his wife looked so cute sitting by the fireplace kissing. My mother had on black slacks that looked liked something Morticia Adams would wear and I teased her about them. She just laughed. I look forward to Christmas with my family. I miss my grandparents being there and my husband's father but I am sure that they were with us in spirit. It didn't snow for Christmas but it was windy. Christmas always makes you feel hopeful and at peace. This is Jesus's Birthday and we should feel that way. Christmas seems like a magical holiday. I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
