                                              Preface

Most Christians know about Lucifer, (the devil, satan, adversary), devil spirits, demons. But there are those who do not believe there is a devil. There are those who don't believe that the adversary and the spirit realm can (and do) influence mankind on a constant and continual basis, as that person allows. Most people, Christian and non-Christian alike do not want their influence, but they are not taught how to keep it out. This story is for those who do not believe that the devil and his spirits do affect our current world and daily living.

This was for a 'what if' contest. What if beings from another dimension can influence our extreme negative emotions?

Chapter One

Matthew couldn’t take it anymore.  His girlfriend, Carolyn, said she was bowling with a distant cousin Freddy.  Later that day Matt saw his best friend, Steve at the grocery store.  Steve asked Matt if he and Carolyn broke up since he saw her walking arm in arm intimately with a stranger.

Matt told Steve, “no that was only her cousin”, while at the same time wondering what they were really doing?  “She has too many male friends”, he thought to himself.  She says she would never date behind his back, but he knows she is lying.  The only girls he knows well are ones he’s been intimate with.  She must have said it was her cousin so he wouldn’t expect anything was up.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In another dimension, in close correlation to earth, dwells invisible beings.  They call themselves spirits. They have one main purpose in life.  To please their commander in chief whose name is Lucifer, by striving to influence and control human beings.

Jealousy looked at the devil and said “just give me five more minutes.  I’ve been working on him for years.  I know in five more minutes he’ll invite me into his world.  This is “the part” for me.  I know I’m old enough, please give me a chance”.

The devil turned to the next fellow in line, his attention being off Jealousy.  Jealousy directed his energies back towards Matthew.

It has been so easy, talking Matthew into not trusting in Carolyn.  “It worked to my favor”, he thought, ”that Steve was there to see the cousins walking together.  I don’t want Matthew to believe the truth that Carolyn and her cousin were friends only, because then I won’t get “the part””.  What he didn’t realize before, was that it would be so much fun molding a human being to his image.  He couldn’t wait to see what else he could get Matthew and then others to think and dwell on.  He really needed this part so he would be promoted to crew captain.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Someone honked his horn; Matthew walked to the window and was just in time to see Carolyn lean over to receive a peck on her cheek.
`
How could she be so cheap? Pretending nothing more is happening.  Doesn’t she realize that she should be paying attention only to him?  His eyes were blinded temporarily; all he could see was green.  Then he heard a voice, in his mind, telling him to give her the 3rd degree.

“Sure, think you can get away with telling me you went bowling, huh?  He slammed the door so hard the frame cracked.  “I know what you were really doing and it wasn’t bowling.  You don’t think I’m going to take this anymore do you?  Don’t try to appease me; nothing you say can change what I know to be true.  I’ve already packed your bags and put them in your car.  Now you can spend all the time you want with your other lovers”, he sneered.

She reopened the door, tears streaming down her face, surprised at his outburst.  He had never shown his distrust in her before.  She didn’t know what had gotten into him.

He was thinking the same thing.  What happened?  Was that me that said that to my beloved Carolyn?  It surely sounded like his voice.  He never meant to speak his worries out loud.  What got into him, he wondered?  He actually sounded jealous.  That’s something new, when did that start?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the other dimension, Jealousy realized how much fun this was.  He didn’t know it would be so simple to influence someone’s thoughts, words and actions.  It took a lot of thought and preparation but once a human let him in they said exactly what he wanted them to say.  He knew what had gotten into Matthew.  He went to find the promotion chief.
