GREAT-GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE
The house is worn It smells of time Each article tells a story Of days gone by, Of nursery rhymes, Of life in all its glory. The windows trimmed In lacy white Invite the sun to engage The great piano With tone so light, Itself an expression of age... Displaying dancers on a music box, Trophies for achievements, An array of photos sweetly framed Of brides and grooms and babies. The house is old Its fragrance carries A history of love Carries us back To times we miss Or times we were not part of. Yet we feel a part Of this antique world -- Its heartaches and its romance.... Keepsakes and baubles, Nicks and scars, A menagerie of Moments.
