There it is out there for all to see
Once all inside, he's wearing his emotions on his sleeve
Spent his early life keeping it wrapped tight
Decided it was time for some kind of change make the future bright
He finally met this girl, his one shinning light
One he'd do anything for, prepared to die and fight
Of course he has his doubts, and some times they feel so strong
This relationship, going so well, can suddenly feel so wrong
And it's nothing she's doing, she's doing no harm
But the boy is feeling and hearing some kind of alarm
He's pulling back, taking no chances, returning to his shell
Not prepared to let this girl break his heart and make his life a living hell
What is it inside him? Is there something wrong?
What's triggered these warning bells and set off the alarm?
He's never had his heart broken before,
he's not dwelling on past experience
He knows he's in love but the joy isn't making him delirious
So is it right? Or is it all wrong? Is he doomed to be forever singing this sad song?
And he looks all around for some kind of guidance
He's not finding any mentors, he's stricken with blindness
He's ruined what he had and now she's completely gone
Left to once again become part of that throng
Of people he doesn't know and lifes he can't relate to
He knows deep down that something must be wrong
He doesn't think straight, he doesn't fit in
In this race world he's lagging far behind
Resigned to expressing himself in anonymity online
