musing on a cold lonely aturday
another one of my bite sized fits of passion

I’m running down a dark street
Chasing a light that I may have imagined
‘Cause I know that if we could just
Come together
At the same moment
I would be able to see
And he would see in me
All the love that could be

It’s dark and cold in this city
I’m lonely with no hand to hold
In the middle of a sea of people
I am deserted and vulnerable
And I know
That if I could just
Move a little closer
He might take my hand
And I would be fine

I am suffocating
In the wide expanse of land
Claustrophobia is setting in
But if I could look
Into those eyes
I’d see that I was in a field
With the sky above
Reaching out to forever
And I wouldn’t be afraid

I’m drowning in a sea of faces
Coughing, gasping for a breath
Of air that hasn’t already been taken in
And put out again
And I know
That if I could just see him
My breath would return
And I wouldn’t be one of them anymore
