Transforming

Part 1

Emotions are temporary distractions
Hiding from facts won't dissolve them
Place the film over the slide
View the microscope
Magnifying cynicism is liberation
Objectively inspect your wounds
Modifications have been made
A more complete organism can emerge if allowed
Return the favor
Stab hostility through me
Dissect any part that remains
Slice until the beast is in pieces
Millions of light reflections in chaos
Prisms of cascading colors
Indigo, violet, purple, and crimson
Bleed me out of your psyche
Clear cut eradication
Leave no trace of a prior form
Can you recall feelings as they dissipate

Part 2

This cocoon transforms from pupa to flight
Wings unfold sweeping their first breath of wind
New found brilliance encompasses being
Subconscious instincts in metaphysical limbo
Faint remembrance lingers in this first leap to the unknown
The scope and grandeur of surroundings flood the senses
Recognition of color, smell, and sound
Leaf bearing giants offer shelter
Shades of green and brown are the choicest refuge
Fragrant blossoms reach for the suns caress
Determined minions agitate the soil
Each worker advancing the agenda of the nest
Billowing clouds hammer the silence
Instinctively withdrawing from toil to await safety
Emotions are delusions unnecessary to survival
The last vestiges of transformation are evident
Nature will coalesce what humanity cannot
