MEAGER BEGINNINGS
Meager beginnings make for a harder way Shorter nights and longer days Billowed white smoke from makeshift stoves Fight the frost in the orange groves Black-eyed children without a home Victims of oppression born to roam Grandma and Grandpa still work on Sacrificial love fills their songs Random chance allows some through Considered lucky pulling off the rue So remember when your juice arrives Its meager beginnings touched countless lives.
