Dear Me 2008
A rainbow of blessings awaits you!

Dear Me!

What a year we had in 2007! I'm proud of you for accomplishing all your goals, but let's be honest--they weren't that difficult. You've explored the summit--you've played with rhymes, rolled in metaphors, and harvested the words and emotions which honored the ancestors. Now it is time to start down a new path, that of the author.

You've proven to yourself that you're a "writer", but in order to be designated an "author" you have a ton of work to do. Even now the goal of "published" lies somewhere in a tangled labyrinth, but cleaning and clearing each chakra will open the way to aligning your vibrations with your desires.

1. Take care of your health. Eat right; drink more water; quit smoking. You know the drill--now fall in, sister! Take your medicine at precise intervals. You can neither take care of your family nor achieve your dreams from a hospital bed. Your root chakra is the foundation of life and must be nurtured.

2. Honor your marriage. Show your gratitude, give selflessly, encourage your husband in his dreams. Go with him on business trips, ask questions, and make sure he knows you believe in him. Spend time alone together discussing a bright future. Your sacral chakra holds your emotions and sexuality, and must be watered regularly. *Wink*

3. Give your child a solid foundation. Work on reading, writing, and (groan) arithmetic. Work on phonics each day, and when opportunities present themselves, teach. Teach her to believe in herself; teach her that real magic lies within her. Show her the basics of your religion, and begin taking her to other churches. Explain the similarities and differences so she can choose her own faith when she's older. Your solar plexus chakra contains all the willpower you need to be your child's mentor.

4. Renew your soul. Meditate. Pray. Take a few minutes each day to remember how blessed you are as a woman in 21st century America. Give to others--attend sabbats and council meetings, and have the 2009 calendar ready to print by August. Your heart chakra will expand with each act of gratitude and service.

5. Write every day (And by that, I mean "work on the book".) This comes before reviews, before blogging, before e-mail. Grab your coffee, stick a DVD in the player, and write or edit for an hour each day. House of Me will be written by June and edited by December. You have 363 days--flex those fingers and get typing! Open the throat chakra which was closed for too many years and express yourself--you have worlds of words to offer.

6. Research your options. Talk to published authors, look for an agent, read all the how-to books on novels you've bought. There is a market for your book--find it. Use your third eye to see into the future--visualize yourself as the successful author you will be.

7. Build heaven on earth. Last year was awful concerning houses--one almost fell down, one burned down, and the one in which you live is a big ol' let-down. Only you, the crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth (a.k.a.: Mom), have the power to make this humble abode the house of your dreams. You don't need a bag of cash--you need only willpower, imagination, bright textiles, favorite pieces, and a bit of elbow grease to create harmony and beauty. Your crown chakra is the telephone between your earthly form and your higher self--keep the line open by clearing away the negative chi in your environment. And anyway--isn't cleanliness next to godliness?

Last year was harder than it had to be, and all because of your perspective. In '08, put on some rainbow colored glasses and take another look at your surroundings. I promise life will look groovy if you learn to adapt and respond to challenges with creativity instead of resentment. Give thanks for what you have, and believe in what has not yet manifested. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude, and blessings will spring forth.

As you will it, it will be.

You are a child of the universe, dear one, and you deserve all that your heart desires.

Namaste, dear friend.
