Rhymney River
Yesterday I was chest deep swimming circles dipping jam jars for minnows inching across the weir spotting kingfishers a heron a buzzard mid-flight. This morning I took the dog for a walk. The waters surface was greenish, muddied in places. Downstream a sheep’s carcass lay rotting. A condom floated by as I turned to leave.
