Alone Again
This sad poem came to me after the holidays. It did not happen to me personally.

I'm so saddened
By the way today has happened
And the loneliness this again entails.
My lover's gone
Breaking his Godly promise
To love, honor, and cherish me forever.
He left a wife,
A step-daughter, a step-son
And drove off to the wrong place, wrong time.
The road to Wal-Mart
Is now my personal freeway to Hell
Because I just had to have that gift returned today.
Dressed in black
I can't look in a mirror now.
I'd see the accusation in my own eyes.
He wanted to please me.
The sweater was beautiful but small,
So with the last gift he ever gave, I killed him.
Our first Christmas
Was to be the beginning of forever
And now we are forever to be alone all over again.
