American Soil

Tragedy strikes on American soil
Wounding our country and causing turmoil.
Innocent souls, the strong and the loyal,
Never expecting their lives to uncoil.

Testing our great nations strength and resolve.
Ominous reason they try to devolve.
When will they learn that we will always solve,
Each time it is us they try to involve.

Rising above, we do as a nation
Something we have done since our creation.
Trusting God, in Him is our salvation .
Reaching justice through determination.

Amid the crisis, the great and the small,
United together, never to fall.
Mending together is our mighty call.
And liberty and justice for us all.
