Dear Me
A letter to myself expressing what I want my goals to be for the New Year.

Dear Me,

First, I have to isolate myself in a way from the culture at large (mass media) and focus on reading works from others who only followed their own path. There are two major factors that could help me achieve this:

Turn off the television - not because t.v. is necessarily evil, but because I want to take back control of my time and what I put in my head. I want to treat my mind as a sacred place and begin to fill it with things that would help me to formulate new ideas. I need to use my imagination and do things that benefit my life instead of taking away from it.

I want to, at some point, learn that all of the things I have done to try and "make it" are actually bull****(PG version) and ego driven; learn that they have nothing to do with making the world a better place. Also, they have not gone towards making people remember me as anything more than a self absorbed emotional roller coaster.

My goals this year will be networking, promoting, marketing and setting additional goals for myself. I have to make a pact to work from my heart and not my ego. I need to remove myself from the mass culture to give my mind the space to work without constant comparing or competing. I need to trust myself and go out on a limb with my ideas this year. I am 111% sure that 2008 will be my year and people will know my name and my work.
