Randall Jones was never happy sitting at a desk doing his accountant job, It was safe, it was a steady pay check, but he never really felt good about it.
Randy got to thinking, he didn’t want to die someday after doing something all his life that he didn’t like doing. And when his son graduated he thought it might be his turn at last. Accordingly he bought a farm. The place was run down and hadn’t been worked in years but for the first time in his life Randy started feeling good about things. It was going to be hard work but he was okay with that. The first job was clearing away the growth of brush and sumac that had taken over the whole place. When Abner Sutterly, who ran the hardware store, came by and saw how hard Randy was working, he stopped to talk. “You don’t know what you’re doing here! You want a chain saw for this job.” Abner talked him into it. He said “You can get all this cleared away in a couple of days. Come down to the store and I’ll fix you up with a good chain saw. If you don’t like it I'll give you your money back.” A couple of days later Randy was at the hardware store again. He threw the saw on the counter and said , "this thing is no good at all!". I only got a small part of my property cleared, and it was the hardest work I ever did!" Abner said, “Let me see.” He started the saw up and examined it. “Seems to be working all right.” Randy asked. “Why is it making that noise?” 282 words
