"Passion and Shadow"
January 13, 2008

A figure of fiery red
in this world of muted colour,
burning with an inner light
no other seems to posses.

In a corner sits a figure
coloured in darkest violet,
none daring to approach
for fear of a witchly curse.

Red feels it their duty
to save all the world's souls,
so goes to Violet with God,
but that is not their need.

Red speaks of Jesus and salvation
and all He did for us;
Violet ignores the silly words,
instead watching moving lips.

Violet is the only one not listening
as figures of slate, grey, and black
surround the speaking red,
all wishing for that promised light.

Slowly the world transforms
as people accept Jesus,
accept promises of an afterlife
Until again Violet is alone.

Black tears course purple cheeks
to stain this brightened worl
with the inner darkness;
Red returns to Violet's side.

More words of salvation escape,
but Violet doesn't believe a one;
only one thing can save them
and it isn't being offered.

Red won't give up,
believing so strongly
in their promised salvation,
in the promise of Heaven.

Violet wants to believe in it,
believe in almost anything,
but they are unable
when inside they are a mess.

Finally Violet has had enough
of the same words repeated,
had enough of the hollow lies,
so rises from the isolated corner.

Red rises as to follow,
but a figure of baby blue
gets to them first,
leaving Violet wishing.

The salvation promised by Red
cannot save one as Violet,
too deep run the sins
of one so broken and dead.

This is a poem that was kinda inspired by AW, but only to a degree. Actually, that is a lie--Red was based on AW and that is the truthSmile Hope this came out nice. Please let me know what you think and how I may make it better. If the different colours for all the names is too much, please let me know. Lurves to all who comment!! Smile
