Positive Thinking Passes the Test
Positive thinking can be a very powerful tool. Just be careful how you use it.

There is a truth to the method of positive thinking that can not be denied. It is like the faith we have in our religious beliefs. We can not be swayed from our belief because we hold it so dear. When I first heard about the power of positive thinking I decided to put it to a series of tests to see if it worked. The book I was reading at the time suggested some examples to use. Our subconscious mind is a very powerful tool and very capable of following our commands. Even the ones we don't realize we are sending it.

I decided I wanted to wake up at exactly 3:30 am. Every couple of hours during the day I repeated the phrase, "I will wake up at 3:30 am." Then, right before I went to sleep I said it to myself over and over until I nodded off. I have had no use for an alarm clock since then. I have become so adept at waking up at a certain time that I do it without thinking about it. How can you wake up at a given time when you are asleep and can't look at a clock? You have an internal time clock that keeps an accurate track of time at all times. Your sub-conscience mind knows what time it is even while you sleep. You can't access that info at will, but your subconscious can, and will if you ask it to.

I tried another test. I started in the morning and throughout the day whenever I thought about it I told myself that I would dream about the Flintstones. I must have thought about it a hundred times that day. "I will dream about the Flintstones." I pictured them in my mind. The result was that Fred, Barney and I had a good time, a yabba dabba doo time, we had a gay old time that night as I slept. It was great. I felt like a kid with a new toy. It was time for the real test. I used this method on a math test I had coming up. I told myself over and over that I would max the test. I studied for it and I aced it. You could say I aced it because I studied for it but I had studied for math tests before and never came close to getting 100 percent. I passed that test because I convinced my subconscious that I could. I studied for it and when I needed the answers; my subconscious mind provided them for me.

This method really does work in everyday life. Pick any kind of test you want and build a phrase and mental image. Use it over and over, every day, all day as often as you can and you will achieve your goals. It is actually the key to being happy in life. If you believe you will be a happy and successful person and you repeatedly feed that to your subconscious mind, you will be happy and successful.
There is, however, a very grave warning that must be stated. You must be real careful what you are telling yourself. Your subconscious mind will believe you and make it happen. If you are a miserable person and you are constantly down on yourself, you will remain miserable as long as you believe that and feed it to your subconscious mind. Many diets won't work because we are constantly telling ourselves that they won't. If you don't believe you can, your subconscious doesn't either.

So start right now. Know it, feel it, say it aloud. Repeatedly tell your subconscious mind that you can lose weight on a certain diet. Tell yourself that you can and will be happy in life. Believe it and apply what you believe in your every day life. If you do this and believe it, your mind will stop getting in your way and start helping you. Give it a try. Start thinking good thoughts today. Think about achieving what you want and about being happy. What have you got to lose?
