“Prayer of the House Husband”
1-17-08 May the Clorox God give me the strength to conquer grimy countertops. May the Goddess Pine Sol give me the power over dirty floors. May the Four Windexs give me the wisdom to create streak free windows. May the Serene Cascade give me the tranquility of clean dishes. May the All-Knowing Pledge give me the insight of dust-free bookshelves. May the Mantra of Resolve give me the vigor over wine stains on carpet. For I am but a humble servant of the Mop, the Broom, and the Bucket. A slave to the whims of filth, dirt, and mold. May the Deities of the Clean Home keep watch over me and help me against my enemies. Amen. *Note: I am a "house husband" or the one who keeps the house clean. Reason? While we both work, my wife works longer hours and I feel that I should be the one to do most of the housework because of it. Women have done it for long enough! It's my turn! Besides, I'm a clean freak and it indulges my "cleaning urges".
