Stars in the Water

starry, starry night
how lovely is the moon
how calm is the ocean
crabs scuttle along the sands
their tracks are slight and shy
the beach glows silver in the moonlight

starry, starry night
how lovely are the waves
how calm are the skies
creatures loom in the ocean depths
their daring not quite bold
the shadows deepen further inside the coral reefs

starry, starry night
how lovely is the coral
how calm are the creatures
sharks awaken to the dark
before them, night life scatters
their mind is slick and their strokes powerful

starry, starry night
how lovely is the water
how calm is the abyss
whales sing a beautiful song
together they are one
their songs are tales of love and sorrow

starry, starry night
how lovely are the stars
how calm are the seas
life is in abundance
great love and mystery
what lies within the deep shall remain for all of time
