Ode to Cathy’s 40th Birthday....
Forty years have come and gone Forty years since birth 40 summers, 40 springs Forty years on earth. You’ve had sorrows, you’ve been sad You’ve cried your share of tears Yet you’ve had laughter, you’ve been glad Throughout those forty years. They say that wisdom comes with age But wisdom has a price. As beauty fades, your soul breaks free Enjoy, is my advice! And even though you’re forty now It’s not that bad, you see... You could be short and round and plump And be as old as me! Written for my “younger” sister.... ....because she is 40!
