WHAT IS POETRY?

WHAT IS POETRY?

"You're a poet and you know it, your feet show it--they're LONGFELLOWS" !
Have you heard that before? What about "If the shoe fits...wear it!"
Think about it for awhile--did it make you think?  Is there more than one meaning here?
Do not be afraid of POETRY. It DOES make you contemplate the words because
it can be  many chapters in a book written in a few words or a single verse.

POETRY IS REFLECTION, the power to carry you to another time and place.
IT  FLOWS gently down stream
IT SHOUTS like an angry wave
IT BEATS  with the drummers hand
IT CALMS the weary
IT COMFORTS the teary
IT SOFTENS hatred
IT LIFTS you high above the stars and beyond your dreams
IT CUSHIONS your fall
IT SOOTHS your troubles away
IT BRINGS A SMILE, causing laughter to bubble over
IT BRINGS A TEAR to a hardened heart
IT IS weakness and strength fighting for first chair in an orchestra
IT IS music for your soul, loved by some, despised by others
IT IS dramatic, somber, cheerful, spiritual, emotional, inspirational, fragil even scary
IT IS fire and water, melting ice, a candle flickering in a  darkened room
IT IS all life wrapped up in a cuddly blanket
IT IS a peek into heaven
IT IS life to a poet--My gift to you
IT IS God's special Gift to all who are willing to read it
IT IS LIFE...............
AND, yes it is WONDER.....FULL  too!
