AN ODE TO A DICTIONARY

I can’t write if I don’t have
You, my dictionary.
Without you, my writing would
Be just ordinary.

I can’t write without you a
Poem, O lexicon!
To look you up, by nature,
I am so often prone.

You help me find words that rhyme
And have proper accent.
One wrong word suffices to,
A poem’s beauty dent

I am a traditional
Poet, my words matter.
You are the flower from which
Sweet nectar I gather.
