The Basic Nature of Poetry

Prayer

My Father God
While I stay with my brother
Help me not to sob
Make me a wise mother

Give me work to do
Smile to always share
Love so kind and true
A heart that is full of care

A place to always go
Playing with my little boys
Let us always know
You have all the joys

Allow me to stand
Straight and tall
With or without a man
For my children are so small

Now I must end my prayer
But we will talk again
For you are always there
Lifting me from sin

So in Jesus name
I ask of you
Amen
