Drowning In My Sleep
Morning brings no peace.

Don't fall asleep.
Hold back the night.
I try to protect myself but I never get it right.
Morning comes too early, the sunshine hurts my eyes.
I cried for the truth but all I got were lies.

Pray for some peace.
My own belief.
I'm constantly screaming but it brings me no damned relief.
Death comes too quickly, the end is drawing near.
An end to everything that I once held dear.

Looking to God.
Still water's deep.
I'm treading water but I end up drowning in my sleep.
Hope isn't coming though I've called her by name.
Yet I'll keep on screaming for her just the same.
