Emotionless
Emotionless people exist, but they don’t really exist.

There was a cardboard box
At my door
Dropped off by the local bums

I opened the door
And saw this taut wrapped specimen
Opened it
Felt strange lifting it up
Lighter than air
“What does it have in store for me?
What’s in it for me?” I ask.

I opened it
Removed the tapes and wrapping
And there was nothing…
Barren...inside...
Just like someone who never gave a –--
Unusual
Like a magician
Making a rabbit appear from a hat
And then putting it back and
Making it disappear
This is what I fear
This so-called nut
Turned out to be
So not the total package,
The total package but
(According to the label on the box, it says)
EMOTIONLESS.
