Dear Me,

FINAL NOTICE!!!

This is your Life Purpose Department, located in the small corner of your brain just past the 90% that is useless to you, writing you (AGAIN!) to tell you that this year, you wish to become published. You don’t care when or how. Just don’t hurt anybody, or yourself, to do it, as we will not be liable for any injuries given or received as you go about achieving this goal, or any goal for that matter. It’s important to you that you do this. It’s an undeniable truth of your ability as a writer.

I’m glad to see that you’ve been doing well with diversifying your portfolio, BUT YOU CAN DO BETTER! Why not try a mystery? Maybe some horror? You like erotica, right? Mix something in with that love-making you like writing so much and spice it up a bit! (And by that I do not mean adding more characters!)

But you HAVE been slacking in the poetry department. You entered that Stretch contest, right? Have you joined the second one? Why not?! Get to it! And find others to enter as well! There’s so many ideas and words floating around up here that it’s getting hard to think about anything else, so get purging! Move it! Move it! Move it!

But seriously – take some time for yourself. You need to find out who you are, deep down inside, without trying to be what everyone else expects you to be. Learn who YOU are and be that person. Explore life, and love, and family.

Most importantly, be there for Gramma as she faces something that no one should ever have to face. Cancer is hard on family, but it is harder on its victim. You’ve had a connection with this woman stronger than any you’ve ever known. It’s been your rock, your one source of strength when you thought you had none. It’s time to be that for her. You don’t get a second chance at saying goodbye.
