For the Reflecting Eye's March, 2008 contest using the prompt "To Make You Mine". To Make You Mine I’ve watched you from afar. I know just where you’ll be. You’re my next obsession; I’m sure my destiny. Friends will introduce us; I’ll make damned sure they do. I’ve charmed them with my wit, prestige and power too. My elegant good looks, designer clothes as well, Who would guess that my soul has risen straight from Hell? They’ll see us as a match far too good to be true. They’ll be right of course, but then, what's a guy to do? I’ll lavish you with gifts, with roses at your door; I’ll do most anything to have you on my floor. The reservation’s made; we’ll wine and dine with glee. Such a perfect evening then you’ll come home with me. Floor scattered with petals, incense in the air. I’ll lift you in my arms. Carry you up the stair. Lay you on the satin sheets your body to admire. Slowly I’ll undress you, my heart filled with desire. Your clear blue eyes show trust. Your breathing's hot and fast. Just what I’ve been dreaming of, before me here, at last. You have such perfect skin, your body firm and tight. Your neck, warm and tender; I’m lusting for a bite. Bodies meld together, a final lover's embrace. A last lingering look upon your lovely face. An aphrodisiac, the sweet scent of your hair. My lips caress your neck; I start to nibble there. My Valentine, my love, my fangs strike fast and fierce Into your gentle skin they puncture, plunge and pierce. Your life force ebbs and wanes. There’s horror in your eye. Your arms begin to droop, you weaken then you die. I penned a Valentine, with your blood, and I'm so proud. Forcing you to hear it I’ll read each word out loud, "My fangs are red, your skin is blue. Now, that you're dead, I’ll feast on you.” March 15, 2008 Winner of the Gothic Crusade Valentine's Contest. 2nd Place in the Poetry's Prism~Weekly Contest, Week 149, March 23-29, 2008.
