An Empty Screen

I lie here connected to my life breathing machine.
The sound often puts me to sleep, in a hazy way.
Never think I can't hear you.
It's you I live to hear each day.

Please rub my brow with your cool hand.
Fill my mind with life you make new.
It's you I live to hear each day.
Never think I can't hear you.

Touch my face, stroke my arm like you do.
I feel the encouragement in every way.
Never think I can't hear you.
It's you I live to hear each day.

Life isn't always what we had planned.
With you here, life is not so blue.
It's you I live to hear each day.
Never think I can't hear you.

My life is not an empty screen.
It is full of the words you say.
Never think I can't hear you.
It's you I live to hear each day.
