My Shadow
By: The Dark One (M.H.)  Created: February 22, 2006 *approximate*

The Darkness spreads,
I’m in over my head,
When pain swirls,
my thoughts whirl,
Leaving me alone.

In the nothingness I wait,
Seeking any trait,
To betray the walls of sorrow,
I can’t believe there’ll be a ‘morrow.
The sun is gone, that had once shone.

I sit in silence and wait,
Knocking on death’s gate,
I dream of a meadow,
It’s consumed by my shadow.
My thoughts are not permitted in this place.

I feel so alone,
Nowhere to call home.
I cry out in spite,
For a release from the fright.
No answer sounds to herald my grace.

No Heavenly body has paved,
A way out of my eternal grave.
My shadow rears its head,
Once again to call me dead.
All consuming anger masks my face.

I reach out in vain,
To a place without pain.
My shadow mocks me again,
Revealing tortures to no end.
I can’t escape these wicked chains.

The black fog stings,
Oh, what pain it brings!
My shadow laughs,
My soul torn in halves.
My mind screams as the darkness stakes its claims.

Now I only wait,
For the opening of the Gate.
Any Hell must be better,
My violence begetter,
My Shadow finally lets me go.

I fall through a hail,
More concealing than any veil.
My body goes numb,
My brain struck dumb.
I have landed where the darkness will grow.

In Hell I am nothing,
A piece of paper blowing,
On the wings of a darker thing,
But its horrors are failing,
Compared to those of my very own Shadow…

Is your past as dark as mine?
