AN EMPTY SCREEN: award winner
        by: Khalish  (mcgupta44@Writing.Com)
AN EMPTY SCREEN

My face is but truly a screen,
No one knows what is beyond it.
My pretty, rosy face hides a
Design that is crude and tacit.

An empty screen, no emotions,
But it does have a painted smile,
Which truly hides what’s there inside:
Pure selfishness and greed and guile.

If my cunning thoughts were ever
To be reflected in my face,
I won’t have a reputation
For my tender beauty and grace!
