Striving Tree
A poem I wrote for my creative writing class.

slowly decrepit
draining
it Falls

time devouring
decomposed ends

anew spurt
second life
it stalls

supported strongly
armor shed

rotten core defrost
reeks of dampness
it scars

life a testament
withering withstands

skewed limbs
diversely lean
it chars

soldering beams
invisible rays felt

revive inside
mobile in root
it drains

from micro vein
vital signs emerge

quickly sprout
limit absorbs
Refrained
