Where were you last night,
when the heavens' many eyes were blindfolded by clouds, unable to see you slip out into the rain? Did you find shelter from the storm in another man's arms? Where did you go, as I stared across our vacant bed, through the tears streaming down the window at the lonely streetlamp on the corner? Did you find comfort in the warmth of someone else's glow? Where were you, while I penned away my soul into my journal, hoping that you would return with the scribble of every word? Did you find poetry in the words murmured from his lips? Where did you sleep, as I lay dreamless to see the dawn peek over the horizon and extinguish the streetlamp's beacon? Did you find passion in the dreams of the stranger beside you?
