The Other Side Of Reality
This is about questioning the authenticity of one's perceived reality.

Glass shards.
Broken hearts.
Getting to the root of things,
taking it all in one's stride.

Seeing, hearing, feeling
erroneously.
Cutting a swathe across to the
sea of sanity.

Grinning like a maniac,
offering your vulnerability for
all the world to see.
Gawking and mocking.

The golden cage with
the glass key tossed away.
Little hummingbird trapped inside
much like you and me.

As the lyrics of a song goes,
"When it all falls apart,
I just want you to know who I am."
Who I am; I am...

Not him.
Not her.
Not you.
Not me.

Seeing, hearing, feeling
like a giant fraud,
a reptilian fake.
Slipping by everyone else.

Standing behind the glass door
cut off from everyone else-
staring down at dying hearts and bleeding stars,
straddling the other side of reality.
