3rd hour Project CARTOONIST There is a diverse range of jobs open for people interested in cartooning. Mostly art directors and film specialists. There is a motley group of artists who write in magazines, draw political cartoons, and illustrate books. Most are self-employed, roughly 62 percent (www.bls.gov/oco 4). The employment of cartoonists and other media artists are expected to increase at least 16% by 2016 (4). Education is more important to becoming a cartoonist then you would think.
