A lamentation

There is a place in my heart that holds,
            if my heart can swaddle
            the mortal bearance,
a love as great as yours.

And, although your love has slipped
            through my desires
            cold
            greasy fingers,
to be kidnapped...warmed and cherished by others,

My brain retains every single moment
            you said,"I love you."
