When you were young...........

Knowledge

When you were young and days were spent in school
Did you learn to obey the golden rule?
How often do you wish you'd taken heed?
Instead you ignored all and played the fool.

From school you moved on to the world of work.
How many times did you- your duties shirk?
How often do you wish you'd taken note?
Instead you chose to wallow in the murk.

Knowledge is not a thing to cause disdain
but rather, something for you to attain.
You can't measure it's worth- this much I know
And with it there is so much more to gain.

So in the classroom, may children accede
to this truth- Education's what all need!

Rhythm 10-10-10-10
3 aaba quatrains / 1 rhyming couplet.
