Death's Beat
When the beat is gone
Rated:

Avg Rating: (2)
I can feel the coldness creep into my heart slowly,
moving along through the ventricles,
swishing past everything that stands in
its way.

It seeps into every crevice, crack and opening
covering my heart with an ice cold
feeling that chills, and freezes in an instant.

My heart continues its steady beating
only faltering once until finally
knowing it cannot continue
under the steady onslaught of ice.
It falters yet again
and ceases in its fight for life.
The beat is gone....
