third grade teacher likes the preacher's child. she's not too smart and a little too wild.
but i'm too dark and i don't smile. why should i, i'm not the preacher's child.

fourth grade now and i excel. it don't matter, might as well be hell.
on the playground, i excel too well.
boys punch me in the back and say it's tag. if i cry, they will be glad.
i'm taller than them and i get mad.
i punch back but i fail.

i don't care. i still make As and Bs. i will not bail.

7th and 8th i'm the president. the student council loves me.

i'm playing volleyball and softball too. campfire girls i love you.
letters of request from the best high schools.
i'm am at the top of my class. hey establisment you can kiss my..........
i'm getting ribbons and awards; plaques and certificates.
i'm a force to be remembered. i am the establisment.
