Old Folks’ Home
(a true story)

I got a letter in the mail today
From City Hall where I live.
It seems they want a zoning change
My opinion would I give?

They asked if they could zone my street
And change the property
To a brand new modern Old Folks’ Home
Please help us was their plea.

Now since I’m getting on in years
The thought had crossed my mind
I’d need some care and a place to stay
And a Home I’d have to find.

I’d thought about this long and hard
And what my choice would be
But little did I realize
The Home would come to me.
