pocketing sins from generous collection plates
with the smile of the serpent

humans everywhere are canned
cliche people turning technological tricks
till the inevitable end
when assembly-line babies commit adultery
and develop bar-coded babies

meanwhile deep breathes buy moonshine
gnawing and numbing the barred brain
as uncouth smog licks my face
pecking and mocking through hydrogenated hearts

they say advancement is the key to the future
but the key is useless when paired with a rusted lock deformed
mutated

the human hand has five fingers
capable and powerful
