The greatest gift I have received:
A steady drum, my beating heart; For with this gift I have achieved The skill to love, a true fine art. And with each pulse this heart brings life; Brings comfort during pain and strife; So I will live each moment on And cherish life until it’s gone. Form: A rispetto. 2 quatrains, written in iambic tetrameter with a rhyme scheme of abab ccdd. Element: A metaphor. Optional prompt: 'What was the worst gift you ever received from a loved one? On the converse, what was the best? Bring it to life in your Rispetto!' For a note on this poem please see: "The Greatest Gift"
