Inspiration Forum Use one of these in a poem 1. momentary solace 2. mystic enchantment 3. the rustle of skirts 4. aromas from the kitchen 5. glowing embers 6. essence of hope Sunday Dinner
Although times were tough in the thirties Our family of ten would gather Around the dining room table on a Sunday In the spirit of love and tradition. Before we all went our different ways The aromas from the kitchen I remember still The smell of a single chicken roasting To be divided among the hungry children. Our triumphant mother entering with the prize And our eyes glazed with delicious anticipation. But before our appetites were sated With plenty of potatoes and home made bread A moment of silent prayer began Expressing the essence of hope That our bounty would continue for another week. So thankful were we of our meager blessings So transient the food on our table Our faith was what we held on to That tomorrow would be a better day We dare not neglect to pray.
