A river of tears flows through my heart
At your apparent disappearance from my horizon, Did you not realize the whirlpool of emotion, Fathoms deep, You could create within me? Your sunny smiles, so endearing, Calmed me, Until I babbled lightheartedly, excited yet content, Dancing happily like a brook. Your raindrops - sadnesses shared, Merged with me, Uniting us as one on our journey together. How could you not realize your withdrawal, Your absence from my world, Could create an unfillable void within me - A restless rushing, A swirling eddy with no direction? Stones of sorrow tumble now in despair, Scraping roughly along the bottom, Carried by increasingly distressed currents, Gouging gashes, Eroding happiness and hope, Bringing a loss which leaves nothing of the once teeming river, But a listless, stagnant pool without life.
