How to create a campfire here at WDC

*Star* How to... Create a Campfire *Star*


*Bullet* use the "Site Navigation" pane located to the left of your screen
*Bullet* click on "Site Tools"
*Bullet* click Create an item
*Bullet* choose Campfire Creative"
*Bullet* fill in the fields of sections 1 to 3 as you would when creating a static
*Bullet* In section 4 pop in a short explanation of the campfire and any instructions you want to give as this section will act as a "header" to the item, as well as being sent to invitees *Thumbsup*
*Bullet* in section 5, under the main body of text, are two fields which express minimum and maximum addition sizes. If you wish to let your participants to have freedom in their choices just leave them blank, but if you want to limit their entries then fill in as appropriate *Smile*
*Bullet* underneath is an option to receive up-date emails from the support system. These let you know when someone has made an addition and the next person is up. It's good to have request a copy to be sent to you - just click the drop down menu arrow - as this lets you keep an eye on the progress of your Campfire
*Bullet* go to the bottom or your item and click "Save and View"

Congratulations! You should now have the foundation of your Campfire *Thumbsup* Now you can invite members to participate and accept their requests to join. Here's how:

*Check1* The black tool bar under in the header of your Campfire allows you to edit and manage your Campfire.
*Check1* To invite a member to join click Manage Campfire
*Check1* This will create a new window with a new tool bar which looks like this:
[View Campfire] [List/Edit Additions] [Manage Invitees] [Extinguish Fire]

*Check1* You will also be able to scroll down to user tag fields where you can add the details of those you wish to invite. You must type in the full user name and address like this *Right* acme@writing.com, substituting my name for the persons user name you wish to invite
*Check1* If you like your invitees to remain in this order, leave the tick box at the foot of the page blank and click "Submit Changes
*Check1* Now all you have to do is wait for your invitees to accept or decline your invitation.

As soon as your first invitee accepts, your Campfire can begin and you can make your first addition *Bigsmile* Here's how:

*Note6* from this page, click [View Campfire] or from your main portfolio page just enter the item from there
*Note6* type in the large field which encourages you to make an addition and write your part of the story
*Note6* if you are happy with it save it and the system will notify the next person that it is their turn
*Note6* if you are unhappy with your addition, or need to edit another member's, click on "Manage Campfire" and then click the [List/Edit Additions] option
*Note6* click on the addition you wish to edit and you will find yourself with similar fields as when you made your first addition.
*Note6* make any changes you wish and save
