SHE CHOSE
I agreed to let her spend time With her brother and her dad I did not know that she would be crying And make my life so sad She said that she did not want to choose She had told me things they had done Yet I am the one who has to loose Standing there so stunned When she would not get in the car To go home with me Leaving yet another giant scar On a heart that is already lonely I can’t turn off a mother’s heart I can’t say, “you can’t come home” I can not break away and be a part She is the tune to my life’s song She is the first born girl She hurt from her dad’s leaving The first real part of my real world I won’t stop believing One day she will not have to choose She will be her own I pray that she will not loose Or ever feel this alone I want her to be happy Through the tears I shed tonight She will be my baby I want her to be all right Though I cry now in the dark evening I know she will be a woman That there will be no more leaving Then she will understand
