Shadows linger here;
A shroud of suffocating Darkness drawing near; Consuming our bitter souls, Filling us with fear. The bright sun decayed, Turning to ash in the sky, As we watched, dismayed; Our hearts left feeling heavy Under weight of shade. Redness bleeds from eyes That strain to see through dimness And echoing cries Pierce this opaque world, where Light splutters and dies. Life wanes in this gloom; Skeletal forms with sunken Eyes stare, full of doom. Such deplorable creatures, Spawned from shrunken wombs. Rotten corpses rife, The bones picked clean of flesh By ravens of strife, Blood dripping from greedy bills, From death, gaining life. Shadows linger here; A shroud of suffocating Darkness drawing near; Consuming our bitter souls, Filling us with fear.
