My Life
Reflections of my life from a wheelchair after a serious fracture to my ankle

Here I was, my life in a rut
So much so, I fell on my butt
Where was I supposed to go to, here or there
Only realizing I'd be stuck in a chair

What was I going to do
I could not move
My life revolved around those wheels that moved me room to room

I was to be confined to a hospital for weeks upon end
Isolated from work and all that seemed familiar to me

A different life I was going to have
Commiserating with those old at hand
People who were older and wiser than me
Teaching me a new way of life
A new way to see

No longer was my life in a rut
Though stuck on my butt,
I had a life to look forward to
Not sitting on my butt

Walking and traversing with all whom I wanted
Doing the things that I so longed for all along
My life no longer seemed such a mess
There was a light at the end of the tunnel

All because I fell on my butt
