He took a pen and wrote his love in ink,
The crisp white pages stained with feelings pure. He knew in her he’d found the missing link And with each word his love became much more! He seized the note then rushed to find his dear And took to bended knee before her eyes; With shaky hands, voice quivering in fear, Professed his love and took her by surprise. When finished, silence fell ‘cept for his heart, Which wildly beat, a never ceasing drum; Oh surely Cupid pierced her with his dart; If she denied him, night would kill the sun! He closed his eyes, feared things had gone amiss! But then he felt her sweet and tender kiss.
