Kiss Her Tears
Quietly together Only ragged breaths break the silence I kiss her ears Because they were calling out Inviting attention Then my lips interrupt the peace And kiss her tears Because she has suffered enough Endured beyond call of duty Waiting for an escape from persecution And still for other reasons I kiss her tears Because maybe they're not shed in sadness
