Pretty Like Me
I see these girls Perfectly-fine-looking girls Completely-gorgeous-on-the-inside girls And I hear them say “If only I were pretty, like you.” If only if only if only Pretty, like me? I wonder, Do they know? First impressions are exactly what they say First, as in The foremost thing The-one-thing-everybody-sees I wonder, Is pretty really all they want to be? Pretty, like me. Why? They don’t know That those looks Those eyes-that-follow They are not Empowering, loving, not confidence-building Because I don’t want to be Just a pretty face They are Uncomfortable, degrading, and here I fight Against pretty. These girls, they want to be Pretty like me.
